At Petcario everyone should feel safe. No matter whether in everyday life with a dog or cat and when using our digital products. For us, accessibility is not an “extra”, but rather part of our daily work.

Whether due to visual or hearing impairments, motor limitations, learning and reading difficulties, technical hurdles or simply an unfamiliar environment. We are developing Petcario so that as many people as possible can use our functions independently and with joy. For us, accessibility is a process and not a one-off task.

Digital Services

When it comes to web app, desktop use and mobile applications, we ensure that Petcario is barrier-free to use. Our content is optimized for screen readers, works reliably on various devices and systems such as desktop and browser as well as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android and offers options for speech output. If we use videos, we provide transcripts. We also enable zoom and a responsive layout so that content remains readable even when enlarged, and we rely on a color-friendly display with good contrasts that are not only communicated via color. This is how we help people with color blindness or red-green weakness.

Orientation to the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG)

We take the legal requirements seriously and are guided by the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), which has been applicable since June 28, 2025. Our claim goes beyond “duty”: We want to implement accessibility as a real added value for all users.

Support & help without hurdles

If something is not usable, we want you to just reach us. This means you can use your own email program and are not tied to contact forms. You can also reach us by phone if you find it more difficult to write or read.

Reduce financial barriers

Digital participation must not fail because of money. That's why we plan/offer discounts for citizens' benefit recipients. Simply write an email with your current citizen's allowance notice and you will receive free access to the platform and an animal tag for this period. Spreading the word is allowed. :)
