At Petcario, everyone should feel safe. Whether in everyday life with a dog or cat, or when using our digital products. Accessibility isn't an "extra" for us, but an integral part of our daily work.
Egal ob durch Seh- oder Hörbeeinträchtigungen, motorische Einschränkungen, Lern- und Leseschwierigkeiten, technische Hürden oder einfach durch eine ungewohnte Umgebung. Wir entwickeln Petcario so, dass möglichst viele Menschen unsere Funktionen selbstständig, und mit Freude nutzen können. Dabei ist Barrierefreiheit für uns ein Prozess und keine einmalige Aufgabe.
Digital services
We ensure that Petcario is accessible across our web app, desktop, and mobile applications. Our content is optimized for screen readers, functions reliably on various devices and systems such as desktops and browsers, as well as Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, and offers speech output options. When we use videos, we provide transcripts. We also enable zoom and a responsive layout so that content remains easily readable even when enlarged, and we prioritize a color-friendly presentation with good contrast, which is communicated not only through color. This helps people with color blindness or red-green color blindness.
Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG)
We take the legal requirements seriously and adhere to the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG), which has been applicable since June 28, 2025. Our ambition goes beyond mere obligation: We want to implement accessibility as a genuine added value for all users.
Support & Help without barriers
If something isn't working well, we want you to be able to contact us directly. This way, you can use your own email program and aren't limited to contact forms. You can also reach us by phone if you have difficulty writing or reading.
Reduce finaicial hurdles
Digital participation shouldn't be hindered by financial constraints. That's why we're planning/offering discounts for recipients of citizen's allowance. Simply send us an email with your current citizen's allowance statement and you'll receive free access to the platform and a pet token for that period. Feel free to spread the word! :)
